Supplemental Scholarship Application
Incoming Mercyhurst students and current Mercyhurst students who have completed at least one semester of coursework may apply for supplemental scholarships, which are funded by the generous support of Mercyhurst donors, using the form below. Each scholarship ranges in value from $250 to $5,000, depending on the donor's wishes. The deadline to complete this form is January 1. Before starting this form, please review the criteria for each scholarship on our

Alfred Gino Scholarship
was established in December 1993 for students of Italian heritage who exhibit financial need and are academically qualified. The fund is endowed by Mr. Alfred Gino, whose desire is to help students have an opportunity to receive a college education. The
Class of 1977 Scholarship

Guy Mancini Memorial Scholarship
was established in the fall of 1991 by the United Steelworkers of America, District Twenty, in memory of Guy Mancini, and will be awarded to academically qualified sons and daughters of AFL-CIO members of Erie County. The
John F. Kennedy Scholarship
was established in memory of John F. Kennedy. This scholarship will be awarded to a student of Irish heritage. Please describe how you believe you meet the criteria to receive this scholarship.
The
Kelly Salvo Morey Endowed Scholarship
, funded through the KSM Breast Cancer Fund, memorializes Kelly Salvo Morey, who was married to Jeff Morey, '90. Kelly died March 22, 2000. This scholarship is intended to help students who come from families where a member has cancer now or had cancer in the past. Knowing the financial burden a family endures in the fight against the disease, Jeff Morey directed that this scholarship help students who might otherwise have no opportunity to get into college. The
LP Scholarship for Foreign Students
is intended to benefit foreign students whose parents or grandparents have an affiliation with the trucking, logistics, or supply industry. Please describe how you believe you meet the criteria to receive this scholarship.

Presque Isle Lifeguard Association Scholarship
is intended to provide financial support for current or former Presque Isle lifeguards that have completed at least one entire lifeguard season, while maintaining a clear performance record, arriving on time to all scheduled shifts, and fully participating in PILA activities and requirements.
The
Sisters of Mercy of the Americas Scholarship
is available for full-time undergraduate students who are relatives of living or deceased Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. Relatives include parents, sisters or brothers, nieces or nephews, and grand-nieces or grand-nephews. Please describe how you believe you meet the criteria to receive this scholarship.
The
Sr. Mary John Brown Scholarship Fund for Music
was established by Barbara Stone Pery '57 in memory of her aunt, Sr. Mary John Brown. The intent of this scholarship is to help a needy music student with the purchase of books and occasional fees. Please describe how you believe you meet the criteria to receive this scholarship.
The
William & Martha Wurst Hilbert Endowed Scholarship
was established during the Preserving the Legacy capital campaign by Mr. and Mrs. William Hilbert. This scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshman, but they must achieve a 3.0 GPA at the end of their first year to preserve their award for the following years. First preference will be given to sons or daughters of PHB, Red Dog Industries, or Anson Mold and Manufacturing employees. Once that applicant pool is exhausted, the scholarship award will be open to any qualified student from Erie County or the Diocese of Erie. The
Class of 2019 Endowed Scholarship
will be awarded to assist a student in their junior or senior year who is living their dream through an internship or fieldwork, by offsetting the cost of tuition that goes toward the credits applied to their internship. Curtis Zimmerman, Welcome Week speaker, taught us the proper response to “How are you?” He reminds us that going to college is a privilege that very few people in the world get. We are all literally living the dream of so many people. This scholarship was named with this idea in mind. For many Mercyhurst students, internships and fieldwork are a major way that they live the dream. Internships and fieldwork are often mandatory and essential for getting a dream job. Please describe how you believe you meet the criteria to receive this scholarship.
The
Class of 2020 Endowed Scholarship
will be awarded to someone who is actively involved in the Mercyhurst community and has fought hard or is currently fighting hard to be here. Everyone in the Class of 2020 knew who Mike Folga was or had heard of his name and the impact he had on the Mercyhurst community. Mike Folga continued to serve his Mercyhurst community while undergoing his transformational battle with cancer. He or she will be someone who overcame or continues to fight his or her struggles to be defined as an illness, financial, etc. This scholarship aims to support any Mercyhurst student who has faced or is currently facing a transformational battle. The
Class of 2021 Endowed Scholarship
will be awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior who is an example of an outstanding teammate, whether on the field or in life that has overcome adversity and exhibits positive energy no matter the situation or obstacles they face. The
Sr. Lisa Mary Class of 2018 Scholarship
will be awarded to a senior who is a true embodiment of the core values established by The Sisters of Mercy, consistent with Mercyhurst's mission statement. The Sisters have always had an enterprising attitude and do what they need to do and this scholarship will be awarded to a senior who also demonstrates this attitude, as well as an appreciation for the legacy and tradition established by the Sisters. The student will also have an appreciation for the dignity of work that the Sisters of Mercy exemplify and be able to show how its mission has shaped him/her into the person he/she strives to be and is today.
